"Dalmatian Stone," also called "Dalmatian Jasper," is a white to cream-colored material with black spots that is produced in Chihuahua, Mexico. It reminds people of the Dalmatian breed of dogs - and that is where it gets its name. It is a mixture of minerals and therefore it is a rock. The types of minerals in the rock are those that crystallize from a melt so instead of being a jasper, Dalmatian Stone is an igneous rock.
Dalmatian Stone is porous and readily accepts dye. Dyed Dalmatian Stone beads and tumbled stones are commonly seen at gem shows and in bead catalogs.
According to Rocktumbler.com they sent a few pieces to John Attard to do a laboratory analysis that identifies minerals and other materials with a crystalline structure. John's analysis determined that the black material is the mineral arfvedsonite while the white material is a mixture of the mineral albite & lesser amounts of quartz.
Dalmatian Stone is a wonderful stone to work with for those who are overly analytical. It helps the over-analyzer to ground and center all of the subtle bodies & to maintain balance while working with etheric energies. Dalmatian is a stone of service. It can be used by those in the Veterinary field to calm and soothe animals that are hurt and scared.
Dalmatian Stone helps to harmonize the emotions and assists in maintaining composure even under the most difficult circumstances. It is a wonderful piece to use when you want to review and reflect on past actions and decisions, so if a similar situation has presented itself, you will be prepared to make a more informed choice.
Dalmatian Jasper cleanses the aura and any other dysfunctional energies, dispels/transmutes negative energy and protects the user from harm.
