Dumortierite was first described in 1881 for an occurrence in Chaponost, in the Rhône-Alps of France and named for the French paleontologist Eugène Dumortier. It typically occurs in high temperature aluminium-rich regional metamorphic rocks.
It is used in the manufacture of high grade porcelain. It is sometimes mistaken for Sodalite and has been used as imitation Lapis Lazuli. Sources of Dumortierite include Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Italy, Madagascar, Namibia, Nevada, Norway, Poland, Russia and Sri Lanka. This mineral can be used to reduce excitability and to eliminate stubbornness while assisting in the facilitation of standing up for oneself. It can assist in providing stamina to retain the self when one is subjected to harsh uncomfortable environments. Dumortierite is “a stone of patience”. This stone can help one to realize and understand that reality is illusion, and illusion is real. It can also further stimulate verbalization of spiritual ideas & can provide grounding in love matches while clearing away unsettled areas in relationships. Dumortierite has be used to diminish wasting disorders, to provide strength in dealing with conditions of disease, & to provide insight into the basis of a condition in order to help one understand and correct the cause. Cavansite is a beautiful and rare mineral, which explains its recent popularity. It was only discovered in the last 30 years and is found in only a few localities. It's color is greenish blue to deep ocean blue. Cavansite occurs as a secondary mineral in basaltic and andesitic rocks along with a variety of zeolite minerals.
Cavansites' crystal habits are mainly crystal aggregates that consist of tufts or spherical rosettes with pointed crystals. Cavansite was first described as a blue associate of zeolites in 1968 by L.W. Staples. The locality was a road cut near Owyhee Dam, Malheur County, Oregon. The material first came to the Tucson Show in early 1989. It was an immediate hit, with its vibrant blue color. Metaphysical uses for Cavansite include:
“Super Seven”, once also known as the “Sacred Seven” and coined in California as the “Melody Stone”, is the approved name for a combination of seven minerals: Amethyst, Cacoxenite, Geothite, Lepidocrocite, Clear Quartz, Rutile, & Smoky Quartz. It has been found that even smaller segments of this mineral combo contain all of the energies of the total configuration even if it doesn’t exhibit all seven minerals.
Super Seven occurs in the “Grand Formation” in only one location in Espirito Santo, Brazil. It is a “flambeau” mineral & is known to exhibit the phenomenon of St. Elmo’s Fire, an ethereal auric light reminiscent of the “holy light” due to atmospheric electricity on church towers & treetops. Analogous to Sirius, the “brightest” star in the heavens, it can also assist one in all endeavors, promoting conscious awareness of that which has remained hidden. It can help provide spiritual/intellectual truths & can help facilitate ones “thinking” in order to set in motion the new laws allowing peace, harmony, and love. Super Seven never needs cleansing or recharging as it will not retain negative energy or vibrations. It is a stone of connection. It stimulates and furthers the connection between the self & recipient. This stone can also be used to promote telekinesis, telepathy, clairaudience, clairvoyance, awareness-channeling, universal creativity, to further healing and wellness on all levels, & for Earth-healing. ("Super Seven" is trademarked by Melody & this information is sourced from Love Is In The Earth) Hemimorphites are formed by water and the oxidation process of rocks and minerals exposed on the Earth's surface.
The name tells us of the crystal formation as the ends of the crystals vary in shape and form - half-changed or half-formed. This uneven development also makes this stone very rare & is responsible for Hemimorphite's name, from the Greek hemi, meaning "half" and morph, meaning shape. Prior to 1803, Hemimorphite and Smithsonite were thought to be the same mineral called Calamine. In 1803 James Smithson, a British mineralogist, discovered that these were two distinct zinc mineral species that closely resembled each other. Hemimorphite can be used to decrease self-centeredness & to encourage the state of egoless-ness while facilitating the staying power of the self. It allows one to take responsibility for happiness or unhappiness, for creating one’s personal reality, and for both recognizing and utilizing the powers of self-concept. This stone helps relieve feelings of hostility and anger by assisting in smoothing emotional irritations while reinforcing ones understanding of the origin of these provocations or aggravations. Hemimorphite is said to bring one luck, a discerning mind, & a charming manner. It provides symmetry between the physical plane and other planes of existence and allows one to grow simultaneously on all planes. This stone assists one in self-transformation, personal evolution, and maintaining &/or regaining health. This stone was used in ancient times to ward-off poisoning & malice. It has been used in the treatment of blood/cellular disorders, to soothe ulcers, to reduce pain, treat genital diseases, support for dieting, body maintenance/shaping & agility. (Source: LIINE by Melody) Chrysanthemum stone was first discovered in Japan, but has also been found in China, Canada and the USA. It is a naturally occurring stone that is made from a mixture of gypsum, dolomite and limestone, with inclusions of various other minerals including Celestite, Calcite, Andalusite and Feldspar. It is commonly black and white, but it may also be brown and white, as this depends on the minerals present. The way the minerals are arranged in the stones resembles a flower, which explains the meaning of the name Chrysanthemum Stone. Beware of stones that have "painted-on" flowers.
This is a “stone of harmony and change”, encouraging one to understand the correlation between the two. It further enhances compatibility, is excellent for renewal of both love and familial relationships. Eilat Stone is the name for a green-blue inhomogeneous mixture of several secondary copper minerals including malachite, azurite, turquoise, pseudomalachite, chrysocolla and others. The Eilat stone is the National stone of Israel, and is also known as the King Solomon Stone. King Solomon valued this stone as highly as Gold and had jewelry made for the Queen of Sheba from both minerals in order to demonstrate his love for her.
A “stone of regality and dignity”, the Eilat Stone assists on in recognizing the birthright of freedom and furthers one’s knowledge of ancient cultures/folklore associated with the history of King Solomon and the history of the Sinai Peninsula. This stone is a nurturing stone and is an excellent stone for the home and for wearing as it cleanses negativity from any environment. It exhibits a hardness of 6 on the Moh's scale and can be found in Arizona in the United States, where it is mined. It is striking in appearance, with its beautiful mixture of black and gold occurring in dramatic patterns.
Healer's gold is considered to be a helpful ally for healers. This is because it is believed to boost the energy of both the healer and the receiver during a healing session. Whereas normally you might feel exhausted afterward, this stone can serve as a metaphorical cup of coffee, helping to beat that unpleasant side effect of feeling drained. In addition to this, one can expect from Healer's Gold a combination of the healing benefits offered by Pyrite and Magnetite. Pyrite is regarded as a stone of protection and intellect. It is believed to enhance logic, analysis, mental stability, intelligence, creativity, psychic development and memory. It is also said to have a very grounding influence. Magnetite may bring yin/yang energies into balance and align the body's chakras. It is often used to ease or dispel anger, fear, grief, attachment and confusion. Many claim that Magnetite also emits a mysterious, attractive energy that summons love, good fortune and power, and that it guards us against infidelity. In keeping Healer's Gold as a companion, you may notice that you are feeling more decisive and that your outlook is becoming more positive. It may instill feelings of peace and harmony and strengthen your will. Also, consider keeping Healer's Gold around electronic devices as it is said to help protect one from harmful EMF. As far as physical healing is concerned you can expect from Healer's Gold a combination of the physical healing benefits provided by both pyrite and magnetite. Magnetite has been used to relieve depression and agitation, lessen pain, alleviate bleeding and blood issues, fortify the circulatory system, and to give the immune system a needed boost. Pyrite is a wonderful physical healing stone of great power. It supports overall health and well-being and has been believed to help even in cases where people have seemed surely beyond help. It is also said to provide quick results. Healers Gold is known for getting to the root of disease and shielding the body from infectious disease. It may also battle infertility in both males and females, stimulate proper function of the circulatory, respiratory, and endocrine systems, and provide additional benefits to the bones and in the case of DNA damage. Fluorite is calcium fluoride in mineral form, belonging to the halide group of minerals. It is also known as “fluorspar,” especially in industrial or chemical settings. It has ornamental uses, but it has also been used for smelting (as a flux), in the manufacture of hydrofluoric acid, and in the production of glasses, enamels, telescopes, microscopes and fluorite optics. Fluorite comes in a range of brilliant colors and exhibits an isometric crystal system, a Moh's scale hardness of 4, a brittle tenacity, and is transparent to translucent. Some fluorite extracted from certain locations contains special impurities that make it fluorescent, giving rise to the term “fluorescence” in 1852. It is widely occurring and commonly found in large deposits. Noteworthy localities include Germany, China, Austria, Norway, Mexico, Austria, Switzerland, and Canada, but it is found in other places as well.
On a metaphysical level, fluorite stabilizes and cleanses the aura of those who keep it near or wear it. It is said to neutralize and absorb stress and negative energies and ground any excess energies. It would make a great gift for a loved one who is a student because it is also believed to make a wonderful learning aid. It is claimed to improve decision making skills, concentration and self-confidence of those in its vicinity. In addition, this crystal may boost physical and mental coordination and balance, generate positivity, and balance one’s energies. It is becoming increasingly popular among New Age enthusiasts and is sometimes paired with other stones from collections in order to “open the path” for them to become more effective (or amplify their effects). This can work especially well if one’s goal is to attain truth, peace, and spiritual development and wholeness. It is also commonly used during meditation as a channeling aid, as it is believed to enhance connections to fairies, elves, nature spirits and others. If you wish to gain some insight from your past lives, it may also assist you in facilitating connection to the Akashic records. Fluorite is considered to be a useful healing tool by crystal healers. It is said to repair DNA damage and benefit the cells, teeth and bones. Particularly in the form of an elixir, it may effectively fight viruses. It could aid the body while it is battling colds, sinusitis, and the flu, and it is believed to possess the ability to regenerate the mucus membranes and skin. Additionally, it has been used to provide pain relief, treat wounds and ulcers, remove wrinkles and blemishes, assist dental work, alleviate rheumatism, arthritis, and spinal injuries, boost the libido, enhance memory, ease chronic insomnia, and more. Infinite stone is a type of green serpentine: a mixture of serpentine and chrysotile. Found in South Africa, this stone is considered to be one of the most powerful in its group. Green serpentine, from which it is derived, gets its name from its green color and slightly snake-like appearance. Chrysotile, the other “parent” of infinite, is more of a beige color. You can imagine how the combination of these two stones results in the light, calming green color of infinite stone.
Regarded as more powerful than other serpentine stones, Infinite stone has become what is considered a healer’s stone. No one doubts the importance and influence your auric field has and infinite stone is thought to help change this field. Along with changing this field, the stone is thought to help increase the power of Reiki and other energetic healing methods. Kundalini energy is thought, also, to be activated by this powerful stone. On top of all of these healing properties, this stone may provide a nurturing energy from the base chakra to the heart. This stone is also known to increase the connection to the angelic realms. Infinite is thought to be a great worry stone. This particular stone may help with decreasing negative thoughts and actions and relieving its user of stress and pain. Infinite may aid those who struggle to have restful sleep when it is placed under their pillows before bed. When you combine the energetic healing methods, restructuring of the auric field, removal of emotional issues, help with sleep, and assistance in bolstering your connection to the angelic realms, it is clear that the powers of infinite can benefit almost anyone in some area of life. Emotional and mental stress are not the only things that may be alleviated by using Infinite—physical issues may also be aided by this stone. Fatigue, joint pain, connective tissue damage, and ordinary daily body pains may be soothed in the presence of this stone. Aside from its observed healing powers, it isn’t hard to see how the previously mentioned effects of the stone would help with physical healing of the body. Restful sleep, stress reduction, and a better outlook due to the easing of emotional trauma will also clearly help to keep physical issues at bay. This amazing stone works in a myriad of ways to promote whole body health. These aren’t even all of the attributes that this derivative of serpentine possesses. The stone may help to aid in cellular regeneration. Most of the physical damage to your body comes in the form of cells being injured or destroyed, and this stone may actually serve as an ally to your body’s natural ability to regenerate these damaged cells. In so many ways, infinite is regarded and sought after as a nearly perfect healing stone among crystal healers. Variscite is a beautiful yellow-green to deep green to blue-green material that often has interesting matrix similar to turquoise. Some people have confused it with turquoise, but it is generally softer and has a lower specific gravity. It is often cut into cabochons and small sculptures. It is soft, with a hardness of only 4.5 on the Mohs Scale.
Variscite is an aluminum phosphate mineral that is found in a few locations in Utah. It is a secondary mineral found as nodules, fractures, and other cavity fillings, often in igneous rock. Important Utah localities are near the communities of Lucin and Fairfield. |
